In need of new appliances....
My dishwasher has so much white noise I start to imagine it's not really happeneing. The noise is in my brain, trying to get out, which I think, is the result of some drug related incident of twenty-seven years ago...and then...it stops.
I'm going to turn it off before I shot myself in the head.

Ha! I can sympathize. My dishwasher does the same thing on its drying cycle - it makes the most irritating constant whine/shriek. I literally have to leave the room when it's going on.
We had ANCIENT appliances when we moved in here (seriously like 20+ years old--the fridge leaked, the stove had two broken burners and the broiler broke) and lived with them for a year and then last year got a new fridge, stove, microwave/hood, and dishwasher from Sears. They were having a deal on Kenmore appliances--15% off plus another sale to boot.
I LOVE MY APPLIANCES! I feel so bourgeois for saying it, but I do.
You should do something about it. 3 years ago i was living in an ancient kitchen surrounded by ancient appliances. I have decided to save some money to buy something that worth the expense and i decided for Kenmore parts. The result: i will never be the same again.
